VALOR PRONÓSTICO DE LA RELACIÓN NEUTRÓFILOS LINFOCITOS EN PACIENTES CON ICTUS ISQUÉMICO

El ictus isquémico se define como un déficit neurológico focal de inicio súbito, causado por la oclusión del flujo sanguíneo cerebral. Es una de las principales causas de morbimortalidad, así como de discapacidad en todo el mundo, en nuestro país se encuentra dentro de las diez primeras causas de mortalidad. Objetivo: Determinar la utilidad de la relación neutrófilos linfocitos como biomarcador pronóstico en pacientes con ictus isquémico. Materiales y Métodos: Se realizó una revisión teórica en Pubmed, ScienceDirect y Biomed Central, entre 2017 al 2022 de revisiones sistemáticas, metaanálisis, estudios prospectivos y retrospectivos que respondió a la pregunta de investigación ¿La relación neutrófilos linfocitos sirve como marcador pronóstico en pacientes con ictus isquémico? Resultados: Se obtuvieron 25 estudios, de los cuales 9 corresponden a la relación neutrófilos linfocitos como predictor de pronóstico funcional a los 3 meses, 10 estudios para el riesgo de transformación hemorrágica y 6 estudios para predicción de infección. Conclusiones: La relación neutrófilos linfocitos elevada se correlaciona con mal pronóstico funcional, riesgo de infección y transformación hemorrágica, sin embargo, debido a la heterogeneidad de los estudios no existe un valor óptimo que sirva como punto de referencia. Al ser un biomarcador de fácil acceso podría ser utilizado en cualquier nivel de atención, aunque es necesario desarrollar investigaciones con un diseño más robusto que validen esta herramienta.
