Definition
Ciencia Ecuador is a multidisciplinary scientific journal edited by Vega Scientific Publishing House (ECV in Spanish) covering human and animal health, natural, social, and formal sciences. Within each area it includes different topics and approaches concerning human health to medicine; animal to veterinary; natural, to biology; social and formal, among other subtopics on sciences in general.
It is a journal that uses the Open Journal Systems (OJS) includes unpublished articles that are the result of research advances and to be included in the publication must be free of editorial commitments in other journals in any language. A blind peer review system is used for the evaluation of articles; the decision of the reviewers, who do not belong to the Editorial Board, will be final and will determine direct acceptance, rejection, or changes before acceptance. The Editorial Board reserves the right to publish the article and the issue in which the approved manuscripts will appear.
It is an Open Access journal that publishes in Spanish as the primary language, but can also publish in English and Portuguese, as long as the author submits the article translated by an expert or pays the cost of the translation.

Periodicity: Bimonthly, from 2019 to 2020; from 2021 quarterly (the first 5 days after the corresponding quarter ends), 4 fascicles (issues) per volume (year) authorized by SENESCYT; 1-2 fascicles or special issues per year. As of 2022, as indicated by SENESCYT, the numbers will be published the first 5 days after the start of the quarter; with a periodicity of continuous flow with the closure of installments every 3 months in the following periods (January-March; April-June; July-September; October-December).

Editor's Ethics Policy

Reviewer Ethics Policy
- Applies objective judgment when evaluating an article.
- Has no conflict of interest with the research, authors, or investors of the research.
- Treats the articles designated for evaluation as confidential.
Author Ethics Policy
- Is obliged to participate in the peer-review process.
- Has contributed significantly to the research.
- Declares authenticity of the data and of the proposed article.
- Is obliged to provide corrections to errors.
Plagiarism detection: RevCienEc ensures that the scientific papers disclosed are original and unpublished, and have not been previously published in another format (in whole or in part), nor are they involved in any process of evaluation or approval by another journal or other type of publication. Authors are encouraged to make use of systems or platforms such as Plagiarism, Plagium, URKUND, DupliCheker, Copyscape, etc. before submitting their manuscripts; if they present a similarity report of more than 20%, they should make modifications before submitting the manuscript (only if it exceeds the established limits). It is recommended to attach the document or report of the previous review when submitting the manuscript (attach in others in the submission library).

The APC USD 50.00 includes the publishing house process, editor-review process, website maintenance, publisher's staff fees, and layout of the final approval document.
A maximum of 20% of publications by members of the editorial staff and academic board will be allowed per volume.
The publisher, after the approval of the peer review of the manuscripts, will facilitate coordinating a grammatical review in English of the abstract, or a review of the document written entirely in English (it is mandatory in the cases of non-native English-speaking authors, who do not have the Cambridge Proficiency certificate (C2) or equivalent), the translation into Spanish of the writings received in English, is highly recommended in original and review articles, and the fees will be paid directly to the reviewer, for which contact by email with the the allie.
NOTE:
- In the Letters to the Editor section, only a maximum of 3 authors will be accepted.
- Spell-checking costs are to be paid by the author, who must have the manuscript peer-reviewed prior to publication.
- The credentials of the external translator or reviewer must be attached.
Optional:
- The author is responsible for the translation of manuscripts or articles, who may have them translated by an expert external to the publisher (if this is the case, a translation and a certificate signed [preferably electronically] by a translator accredited by consulates or embassies must be attached or submitted).
